1. Scope & provider
These T&Cs apply uniformly to the use of all apps in our app family — VetAura, VetCoral, VetExot and VetBreed — and their respective associated services. They apply in identical wording to each app; the app you actually use determines which is relevant to you. The provider is Sebastian Tredt, Blanke Straße 28, 31028 Gronau (Leine) (hereinafter "we"). The user is the natural person using the app (hereinafter "you").
2. Service description
Our app family offers apps for organising the health and care of animals, each tailored to a specific animal domain: VetAura (household and companion animals, from dogs to fish), VetCoral (marine/reef aquarium keeping), VetExot (terrarium keeping/exotic animals) and VetBreed (breeding management and pedigree). Each app enables, among other things, the recording of pet data, vaccinations, medications, values, documents and appointments, reminders, a digital pet ID and optional AI-assisted support functions; depending on the app, this is complemented by family sharing, a cross-app referral programme, and community features such as the Hazard Radar or the Foraging Map; VetBreed additionally provides breeding and pedigree management. The specific scope of functions may evolve. The apps are currently partly in a beta phase.
Important notice — no veterinary advice
Our apps are pure organisational and information tools. They do not constitute veterinary diagnosis, advice or treatment and do not replace these. AI-assisted hints (e.g. value traffic light, insights, the Plant Scanner for plant safety assessments, the AI Symptom Check for urgency assessments) are non-binding indications and may be incorrect. Community reports contributed by other users (e.g. in the Hazard Radar or the Foraging Map) are likewise unreviewed, user-generated content with no guarantee of accuracy (see Section 7). For particularly sensitive AI features (Plant Scanner, AI Symptom Check) you must explicitly confirm via checkbox before first use that you are aware of these limitations. In the event of health problems, uncertainty or in an emergency, please contact a veterinarian immediately. The responsibility for your pet's health lies solely with you.
3. Account
An account is required for use. You are obliged to provide truthful information and to treat your access credentials confidentially. Use is permitted for persons aged 16 and over; younger persons only with the consent of their parent or guardian.
4. Free and paid features (Premium)
Some features are available free of charge. Extended features are available via a paid Premium subscription. Conclusion, prices, term and billing of the subscription are handled exclusively via the respective app store (Google Play). The conditions displayed in the store apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected term unless cancelled in time.
- Cancellation is made via the subscription management of your app store account (Google Play).
- Refunds are governed by the conditions of the respective app store.
5. Family sharing (Family Plan)
Under certain Premium tiers, you can invite additional people ("family members") to your account by email address. As the inviting person ("account holder"), you are responsible for inviting only people who should be authorised to access your account's pet data; you decide whether a family member gets editor (read and write) access or read-only access. Family members undertake to use the shared data only within the agreed scope. The account holder can remove family members via the app at any time; any family member may also leave the family sharing group at any time. If the underlying Premium subscription ends, family members' extended access to Family Plan features also ends. For the scope and legal basis of the data processed in this context, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Referral programme (invite friends)
Through the "invite friends" feature, you can provide other users — including across apps within our app family (VetAura, VetCoral, VetExot, VetBreed) — with a referral code. Upon successful redemption, we grant you and the referred person a benefit under the bonus model shown in the app at the relevant time (e.g. free additional months of Premium). We reserve the right to adjust the bonus model, the amount of the bonus and the participation conditions for the future at any time, and to revoke individual referrals or reverse bonuses granted where there are indications of abuse (e.g. multiple accounts, automated redemption). There is no entitlement to participate in the referral programme.
7. User-generated content (community reports)
Features such as the Hazard Radar and the Foraging Map allow you to publish your own reports (location, optionally a photo and description) that are visible to other users. The following applies to such user-generated content:
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness and appropriateness of your reports.
- We do not pre-review, verify or edit reports and give no guarantee as to their accuracy, currency or completeness; hazard and foraging area reports do not replace your own on-the-ground assessment or any official or veterinary warnings.
- We reserve the right to remove reports without giving reasons, in particular where we suspect false information, legal violations or misuse.
- By publishing a report, you grant us the right to display it (including any photo and description) to other users within the app; otherwise, the rights to your content remain with you (see also Section 12).
- Note that, unlike foraging area reports, hazard reports may disclose your approximate location at the time of the report without fuzzing (see Privacy Policy, Section 6).
8. Advertising and affiliate links
The app may contain advertising or affiliate links to partner shops, marked as advertising. Transactions concluded via these links are governed exclusively by the conditions of the respective provider. Using the links does not result in any additional costs for you.
9. User obligations
You undertake not to misuse the app, not to upload any unlawful content and not to infringe the rights of third parties. You are solely responsible for the content you enter. Additional rules in Section 7 apply to user-generated content (community reports).
10. Availability
We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee it at all times (e.g. maintenance, disruptions, force majeure). Restrictions may occur particularly during the beta phase.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence as well as for injury to life, body or health. In the case of simple negligence, we are only liable for breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal duty) and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability is excluded. Liability for decisions you make based on app content or AI hints is — subject to the preceding sentences — excluded; the veterinary assessment is always decisive. We accept no liability for the accuracy of user-generated content (community reports under Section 7).
12. Rights to content
The rights to the app and its content remain with us or the respective rights holders. You retain all rights to your own entered data; you merely grant us the right to process it for the purpose of providing the service. The display licence described in Section 7 additionally applies to user-generated content (community reports).
13. Term & termination of the account
The free usage relationship may be terminated at any time by deleting your account (see Delete account). An active Premium subscription is cancelled separately via the app store. Terminating or deleting your account also automatically ends any family sharing and referral links your account was part of.
14. Changes to the T&Cs
We may amend these T&Cs where necessary for good cause (e.g. changed legal situation, new features). We will inform you of material changes in an appropriate manner.
15. Notice for consumers in Brazil
If you use an app from our app family as a consumer resident in Brazil, the following applies in addition to the above: under Art. 49 of the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (CDC), you are entitled to a right of withdrawal of at least 7 days for contracts concluded away from business premises or at a distance. We grant all users, regardless of their country of residence, the uniform 14-day withdrawal period stated in the Right of Withdrawal document, which exceeds this minimum period. Mandatory provisions of the CDC in favour of consumers in Brazil remain unaffected by these T&Cs.
16. Notice for consumers in Australia (Australian Consumer Law)
If you use an app from our app family as a consumer resident in Australia, the following applies in addition to the above:
Consumer guarantees: under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL, Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), you have statutory consumer guarantees (including that services are provided with due care and skill and are fit for their stated purpose) which are not excluded, restricted or modified by these T&Cs. Nothing in these T&Cs is intended to be read as such an exclusion or restriction.
No general right of withdrawal: unlike EU law, Australian law does not provide a general 14-day right of withdrawal for contracts for digital content entered into online at your own initiative; a statutory cooling-off period under the ACL generally applies only to unsolicited consumer agreements (e.g. door-to-door sales, telemarketing). Regardless, as described in the Right of Withdrawal document, we voluntarily grant all users worldwide a 14-day withdrawal period.
Oversight: the authority responsible for consumer protection matters is the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC, accc.gov.au).
Note: this information does not replace legal advice; if in doubt, we also recommend seeking legal advice in Australia.
17. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
